Why should a small business consider custom applications?

Organize information kept on forms and files

Spreadsheets and word processing documents are the files of choice for sole proprietors and small businesses with a few employees. Throw in a small business accounting package and you are on your way. As your business grows, the number and size of those files will increase causing impact to your business. The shipping department may have more up-to-date address information than the monthly newsletter mailing causing a key communication to your customer to be sent elsewhere.

Data inconsistency is a problem in all sizes of businesses. You can minimize your exposure through organization. For example, shipping and newsletter mailing should use the same keys and data source. Imagine all those spreadsheets and form documents in a standard filing system, indexed and organized. No hard to remember directories, file names and searching for the thumb drive master.
